The second meeting of the project partners in Haparanda

The second day of meeting in Haparanda started with "Much more than a school" musical artistic exercise "Singing and movement", which was leaded by Gabrielė Dambauskaitė, vice director for education at Alytus music school, and Rima Beitnarienė, music teacher at Alytus music school. The aim of this exercise was to learn a Lithuanian song "Tu Lietuva, tu mana" by Veronika Povilionienė, as well as to create a dance for it. Emigrant students form Svefi have also participated in this exercise.

The project participants were introduced to the students and teachers of a musical record studio - Erik Nordstrom, Anton Jahansson, Niclas Harlin. They have demonstrated the possibilities of the musical record studio, the secrets and process of creation. The work in this studio is very precise, demanding for patience and professionalism.

After the visit at the studio, the participants have performed an artistic exercise "Language learning through music", which was carried out by Nuuria Ali Muhammed and Stina Bucht. The emigrants wore national costumes and demonstrated Eritrean music - a Fana Abraha song, and a traditional dance. Everyone sang and danced together.

Later on the project participants went on a tour around local areas, visited the fishing museum in Kukkulaforse. They have also visited a rest house of a Turkish Emperor, which was next to the observation tower - there was an opportunity to see the frozen Tornio river, shores of Finland and Sweden.

Katarina Persson represented another part of Svefi school: this folk high school is a place for progress. There are 156 folk high schools in Sweden. Guiding principles in their work: they start from the participant's needs, knowledge and experiences. The participant can influence his / her education during the study time. Area of business is Folk high school educations (120 - 150 participants / year), contract teaching, courses and conferences, accommodation, restaurant, pub, projects, cultural activities etc.

The second day of the meeting in Haparanda was full of creativity, education, new people and places. All the project participants gained new experiences in Adult education, learned new ways of teaching that are fun and useful.
